RAYMOND ROGER HUPE
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Hupe, who courageously ended his battle with cancer.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, Irene and Leo Hupe, and his sisters, Florence and Anna.
He leaves behind his common-law wife of 23 years, Noella Heilman; his sisters and brothers, Thérèse, Denise, Diane, Denis, Arthur, and Eugene; his stepchildren, Joe, Jay, and Tonya; and his grandchildren, to whom he was lovingly known as Papa Ray - Brady, Hunter, and Samantha.
Ray was raised in Richer, Manitoba, and later moved to Transcona to be closer to his work at Griffin Steel, where he was employed for 36 years and formed many lasting friendships. He loved spending time at local establishments, especially betting on the horses at the Central and relaxing on the patio at the George. A devoted Boston Bruins fan, Ray never missed a chance to cheer on his team.
Ray will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity. A proud and private man, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his kindness and love will live on forever in our hearts.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at CancerCare and Palliative Care for the compassion and care shown to Ray throughout this journey.
